Industrial London

(2017 - 2022)

London’s streets - architecture and objets d’art - are an eternal source of visual inspiration. But these images are about the heart of existence in the city. There’s a strong theme. My fascination for gritty spaces, dirty places and overlooked situations is enduring; but actually these are the city’s heartbeat. On the one hand, there’s the people: those that keep things going - cleaning, construction, transportation. In a city of nine million, solitude and isolation, retaining or losing identity recur. On the other hand, there’s the glitz of the showpieces - arts, music and sport icons. They are, ultimately, just places. A backdrop to the cityscape. The centre of the world where ordinary life carries on regardless.
